Contact lenses are small, transparent pieces of plastic placed directly on the eye, usually to address visual impairments. For individuals who do not prefer wearing specs or undergo corrective surgery, contact lenses are perfect for them.

Contact lenses are worn by many individuals throughout the globe, particularly those who lead a lifestyle that is active and wants sharp, clear vision without having to wear specs. The majority of people can wear contact lenses and benefit from the independence of not needing glasses to see.

Types of Contact Lenses:

Soft contact lenses and rigid gas permeable contact lenses are the two most important types of contact. Soft contact lenses are extremely thin and very comfortable to use. They are soft because they are completely composed of water.

Spherical that are normal contact lenses, contact lenses that are used for astigmatism, contact lenses that are used for presbyopia, and coloured contact lenses that are used as cosmetic contacts are the four most primary types of soft contact lenses.

Rigid gas permeable contact lenses are comprised of hard plastic and provide sharp, clear vision while correcting the majority of vision issues. They are more robust than soft contact lenses and last far longer.

Contact lenses, facts that everyone should know:

  • Visit your eye doctor every year—not only to see if there is any change in the prescription but also to examine your eyes for the overall well-being of your health. Glaucoma, a systemic disorder that includes diabetes, vision problems related to peripheral problems, and other issues like color blindness.
  • Contact lenses should be purchased from a reputable retailer. The US Food and Drug Administration regulates contact lenses and lens-care products as medical devices. Retailers who sell third-party products, whether through online sites or in person, sell contact lenses without prescriptions or even supply lenses that are not correct according to the prescription or the brand that the doctor ordered. The improper lenses do not fit the eyes properly and may cause great harm to the function of the eyes, even leading to irreversible vision loss.
  • You should never freak out if the lenses are lost in your eyes. This usually happens while rubbing The eyes. A membrane that surrounds the entire eye called the conjunctiva prevents the lens from being lost inside your eyes. Put a few drops of artificial tears into your eyes to wet the lenses and your eyes, then glance to the side to check if you can find the lens.

  • With the use of coleyes lenses, you can modify and enhance the colour of your eyes.
  • Contact lenses should not be shared, just as you should never share your toothbrush as you are also spreading bacteria. Furthermore, your lenses may not fit properly the other person; it increases the risk of corneal infections and ulcers too.
  • Never put tap water into your eyes. For contact lenses, only the recommended disinfectants and cleansers should be used. Bacteria and other microorganisms present in the tap water can cause issues in the eyes. Every night, a disinfectant solution should be used, and the contact lens solution should be replenished every day.
  • Sleeping with contact lenses is not recommended. Even if you are permitted to wear the lenses at night, you go through the risk of getting a very serious eye infection.

To wear coleyes contact lenses, you require a prescription from your eye doctor if you want to improve your eyesight or just simply change the colour of your eyes. These lenses allow you to change your eye colour and create a subtle, bold look, and enhances your everyday style.
